On Wednesday, Year 2 went to the Polka Theatre in Wimbledon.  

“We hopped onto the big coach and sat in the fluffy seats.  On the journey, we saw tall buildings and some animals in a field.  It wasn’t long before we saw the bright red lights outside the theatre.  We jumped off the coach in excitement and eagerly stepped inside. 

Slowly, we walked into the dark theatre and were amazed by the size of it.  Suddenly, the show began with loud music as the four main characters sprung onto the stage. 

The show was about Cinderella … but not as you know it.  Cindy and Ella were stepsisters who did not want to share a room.  Ella was strong and liked to do boxing to keep fit.  Cindy liked to look good as she wanted to be famous and live in a castle.   

Four mean, scary trolls jumped out of a computer and sang a tuneful song.  They tried to eat Cindy’s heart and make her into an unkind person.  Luckily, Ella defeated the trolls and told Cindy that she was perfect as she was.   

 The show was amazing and we really enjoyed our first school trip.”
