Year 4 Viking Boat Burning
On the morning of 25th of April 954AD, Year 4 said a fond farewell to the last brave Viking Warrior King, Eric Bloodaxe. They honoured his passing into Valhalla by making their own shields – which they held with pride as the Valkyries sent him from Midguard (Earth), over the rainbow bridge and into the hall of Odin. It was decided that he did not need any servants in the afterlife, so year 4 were safe!
The children had a wonderful morning burning Mr Hankin’s pride and joy and enjoyed an exciting end to a fantastic Viking topic. They re-enacted Ragnarok, with Daniel K a worthy victor. Thank you Mr Dudley for acting as our Fire Marshall! SH and TT
Year 2 Pond Dipping Morning
On Wednesday Year 2 had a lovely morning pond dipping in our school pond.
Miss Nevard shared her expertise and showed us all how to use the nets. We put the creatures that we found into observation trays. When we had a look at what we'd found, we were amazed to discover leeches, newts, water boatman and a water stick insect! We also spent some time identifying a variety of plants and listening to the sound of birds. Thank you to Miss Nevard for taking the time to help us. The Year 2 Team
